Faizabad sit-in: Protesters ordered to disperse after law minister resignation

ISLAMABAD: Leader of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Ya Rasoolullah (TLYR), Khadim Hussain Rizvi has announced to end the Faizabad sit-in following the voluntary resignation of federal law and he said to his workers that they have been given 12 hour to vacate the area and open the roads for traffic.

Leader of TLYR also appealed to protestors in all parts of the country to disperse and adding that we have achieved our goals and we will soon vacate the Faizabad area.

He also took the media hostage for some time after he learned that his press conference was not given the live coverage because of government’s ban but the Rangers given safe passage to media personnel.

The Islamabad-Lahore Motorway, along with other major road and rail links, remains closed at the moment but is expected to be reopened once the protesters

Earlier, the Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal assured the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that the sit-in will end today after the agreement was made between the government and TLYR.
