Fake accounts case: NAB files reference against Sindh CM Murad in Islamabad court

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a reference against Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in connection with fake accounts case and irregularities in energy projects, on Tuesday.

Interestingly, the NAB filed the reference in an accountability court in Islamabad. The NAB Rawalpindi filed the reference in Islamabad Accountability Court also contained charges of misuse of powers in energy projects set up in Sindh in connection with fake accounts case.

Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah has been accused of issuing funds against the rules, the NAB claimed in its reference. The NAB reference claimed that embezzlement of billions of rupees committed in the Nooriabad Power Company and Sindh Transmission and Dispatch Company projects. 

In the NAB reference, 17 people including Sindh Chief Minister and Abdul Ghani Majeed have been formally nominated as accused.
