Former cricketer Saeed Anwar denies presence on social media

LAHORE: Former cricketer and prominent religious figure Saeed Anwar has vehemently denied having any presence on social media platforms.

Addressing concerns regarding purported accounts in his name, Anwar clarified that he is not affiliated with any official social media profile on platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube.

Saeed Anwar emphasized that all accounts bearing his name are fraudulent and unauthorized. Expressing distress over the misuse of his identity, he highlighted that these fake accounts have been utilized to disseminate misinformation, including inflammatory statements targeting both India and the elected Pakistani government.

The renowned cricketer revealed that he has been inundated with inquiries regarding his purported social media activity, expressing bewilderment over the creation of counterfeit profiles in his name.

He iterated that he holds no association with any online platform and urged the public to exercise caution and vigilance when encountering accounts claiming to represent him.

It has come to light that these fraudulent profiles have been utilized to propagate false narratives concerning the government of Pakistan and various political and cricketing personalities, including Indian cricketers.

Saeed Anwar has adamantly refuted any involvement in these activities, underscoring the importance of distinguishing between authentic and fabricated online content.
