Gold price jumps high in Pakistan despite stability in international market

KARACHI: Despite stability in prices of yellow metal in the international market on Tuesday, the Pakistani jewels market witnessed another big jump in gold prices as the price of 24-karat gold has surged by Rs1,500 per tola.

According to the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24 karats of pure gold reached Rs2,21,000 per tola.

The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also increased by Rs1,286 to Rs1,89,472 per 10 grams in the local markets.

Rates of 10 grams of gold of 22 karats have also increased and traded at Rs1,73,683 per 10 grams on Tuesday.

Gold prices remained unchanged on Tuesday’s international market and traded at US$1,990 per ounce on the second day of the week.

The rate of 24 karats fine silver also increased by Rs130 per tola to Rs2,730 per tola while the price of 24 karats silver of 10 grams increased by Rs111.45 to Rs2,340.53 per 10 grams.
