Govt launches 3rd phase of Health Card Plus

PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Friday launched the third phase of Health Card Plus. The Chief Minister Mahmood Khan inaugurated the launching ceremony.

In this phase, the scheme is being extended to 100% of the population of Peshawar, Mardan, Haripur, Nowshera, Charsadda and Swabi districts.

Health Card Plus will be provided to 14 million people of these six districts on the basis of National Identity Card.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said that by January, 31, the program will be extended to South region adding whole province will be covered under the scheme.

He said that people from merged district are receiving Rs.0.6 million but soon will be given one million rupees.

“We are including kidney and liver transplant in the package,” he said and added that common man is the priority of the government. He stated that reforms are mature and year 2021 is the year of implementation.

Mahmood Khan said that political unemployment is on the rise saying that now unemployed should no more worry.

“Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Ameer Maqam and Haider Hoti who is active against PTI on social media can also take advantage from Heath Card Plus facility,” Mamood Khan said.

He said that Benazir Income Support program only supported PPP’s workers adding that they can also get free treatment by using the facility.

Minister for Health Taimur Saleem Jhagra also spoke on the occasion and said that access to Health Card Plus facility has been made easy where public will only use their CNIC.

He said that Rs.18 billion budget has been allocated where including merged districts it reaches Rs.20 billion.

He said that the facility is available in both public and private hospitals.

Ministers, Members of Provincial Assembly, Secretaries and others officials were present on the occasion.

Later, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan gave token Heath Card Plus to six people.
