IGP Abbasi vows to end street crimes, drugs selling

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi said Wednesday that it is his top priority to eliminate drugs selling, end street crimes and solve the problems of Khasadar and Levies forces in KP.

This he said in a meeting with print media Bureau Chiefs at Central police line Peshawar.

He appreciated the efforts of KP police and termed it the best police force of the country.

IG added that a DIG rank committee has been formed for the transfer and posting of police from DSPs to SP rank and others high officials.

He added that the committee would also prepare SOPs on Monday for the appointment of officers on merit.

Regarding the merger of Khasadar and Levies force into police, Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi, said that it is his top priority to solve the problems of Levies and Khasaddar forces.

Police Chief further added that investigation system is weak due to which the criminals get benefits, however the department will try to improve the investigation system, he added.

Talking about the force, he vows to work for the betterment of police in the current year and the year of 2020 would be the year of police force and adding that the police force will be equipped with modern technology which also include in the priority.

The KP Police Chief said that the Special Police Force will soon be made permanent and in this regard a summary has been sent to Provincial Cabinet for approval.
