According to private news channel, workers of Jamaat-i-Islami blocked roads in Malir 15, Kalaboard, Shah Faisal number 2, Orangi Town, Dehli Colony and Lyari which causes traffic jams in these areas and created problems for the commuters.

Similarly, the JI workers protested in Lyari and caused to shut down private schools in the area.

Police and Rangers reached the area to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, leader of JI said that his party will continue to stage protests in the city until the solution of the problem.

He also informed that the second of protest will be begin in Saddar, Empress Market and Regal Chowk along with Bolton Market and Lee Market later.

Earlier, on April 23, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had instructed K-Electric (KE) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to resolve the issue within 15 days and restore the supply of electricity to residents.

Karachi has been facing severe load-shedding after KE said SSGC had curbed supply and it was thus unable to produce the required amount of power.
