Kashmir Dispute and the World Peace

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said that India was a terrorist state, which had been committing the worst atrocities and brutalities against the innocent people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir for decades. While addressing the Kashmir Legislative Assembly on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, Kakar accused India of presenting a false narrative over the past years and trying to weaken the indigenous Kashmir freedom movement by wrongly labelling it as terrorism. Premier reaffirmed that Pakistan did not want any conflict in the region, however, it was fully capable of strongly retaliating against any attack on its soil. India has long been following an ambitious hegemonic agenda to become a regional power in the greater South Asia region by perpetuating its influence from the Bay of Bengal to the Persian Gulf and the Maldives to Central Asia in the ploy of regional trade and political cooperation. Indian Rulers had used all possible options such as political influence, military coercion and blackmail, and state-sponsored terrorism against its neighbouring States in a bid to establish its monopoly in the region. On the domestic front, the RSS-influenced BJP swept into power, displacing the Secular Indian National Congress in med 2014, which began to remake secular India into a Hindu supremacist state and squeezed the space for minorities particularly Muslims who formed nearly one-fourth of the Hindu majority India. Meanwhile, New Delhi ruthlessly used all tools and tactics including state power and secret intelligence operations to suppress its minorities and curb multiple freedom movements running in India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Punjab, Mani Pur, Nagaland, Assam and other states. Meanwhile, the Indian government used diplomatic influence and pressure tactics against Indian dissents abroad and targeted them on foreign soil through agents or mercenaries to silence their voices exposing the true face of the fake democracy of the world.Historically, Pakistan had been the prime victim of India’s blatant hostility and foiled multiple aggressions against its territorial sovereignty whilst Islamabad had always faced Indian state-sponsored terrorism throughout the past which now extends to the targeting of individual Pakistani citizens on our soil. Recently, Indian secret agents killed several Pakistani nationals in their hometowns through third-country operations from the Middle East. Pakistan has time and again raised the issue of India’s state sponsorship of terrorism and the use of violence in neighbouring countries as a state policy which significantly destabilised South Asia in recent decades. Pakistan made repeated calls to attract the attention of the global community but failed until Canadian authorities accused an Indian diplomat of playing a role in the killing of a Canadian citizen and the US government blamed Indian intelligence for an assassination bid on an American Sikh in New York late last year. Ironically, a callous disregard for international law and norms of the international system was becoming a routine occurrence and India was now being called out openly by many countries in the world, exposing her sham credentials. Pakistan would continue to expose all such attempts and ensure the security of its citizens.Currently, the Modi-led BJP government increasingly lashes unabated brutality in the illegally occupied valley. The brewing humanitarian and security crises in the IIOJK seriously threaten regional peace and stability. Pakistan has always abided by international laws and demonstrated resilience, however, the Indian government unashamedly implemented its nefarious designs by taking controversial administrative and legislative steps aimed at changing the special status of disputed territory and bulldozing UNSC’s resolutions on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. The status quo could not be maintained for a long time as the global community is silent over New Delhi’s grave violation of UNSC resolutions in sharp contradiction to the fundamental rights of over 14 million Kashmiris. There is a serious risk of a clash between the two nuclear-armed states over the Kashmir dispute. The United Nations and the global community must realize their responsibility by playing an effective role in the resolution of the Kashmir issue which is a nuclear flash point and poses a grave risk to global peace and stability.
