Legal fraternity elects KPBC’s Vice Chairman

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council (KPBC) elected Zar Badshah as vice chairman and Syed Mubashir Shah as Executive Committee’s chairman respectively, on Friday.

The election was held under chairmanship of Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shumail Ahmad Butt in which Zar Badshah obtained 17 votes while with competitor Nauman Kakakhel Advocate obtained 10 votes for the slot of KPBC’s vice chairman.

Moreover, Syed Mubashir Shah also secured 17 votes against Amjad Saleem who obtained 10 votes respectively for the position of chairman of KPBC’s Executive Committee chairmanship.

The newly elected office-holders claimed that they will utilize their energies and potentials for welfare of legal fraternity as well as for working coordination between bench and bar. They added that current lawyers are facing security threats and it should be address on priority basis by upholding the issue on competent forums.
The newly elected KPBC officeholders claimed that role of legal fraternity has increased in current eco-politico crisis in Pakistan while they are committed to play their role in establishment rule of law.

Chairman KPBC’s Executive Committee Syed Mubashir Shah said that he is first advocate from district Swabi who is elected for this position. He added that this is an inspiration for young lawyers that commitment brings result.
