LHC summons PM Kakar and CM Naqvi over social media profanity content

F.P. Report

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court summoned the Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar and Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Oct 16 in connection with blasphemous content posting on social media.

The LHC Justice Shujaat Ali Khan heard the case and ordered the PM and CM Punjab to appear before the court on Oct 16.

The judge remarked that for eight months the federal government could not submit the report. Whereupon, the federal lawyer said that we would submit the reports. Then court remarked that have you come here for sightseeing, why the report has not been submitted? This case belongs to all of us, neither its yours nor court’s case, the court remarked.

Expressing his dismay, the court remarked that the court would call the Chief Executive of the country and the caretaker PM should personally come and submit his answer. The judge remarked it seems that the matter has not been forwarded to the PM.

The federation lawyer requested the court for time, however, the judge remarked that had you been genuinely committed, you would have provided us with a report, the PM should appear and clarify his position.
