LAHORE: Soon after agreeing on the power-sharing formula with the PML-N under which the new Punjab governor would be from the PPP, the party leaders have now started holding consultations over the name of the party’s candidate for the coveted post, on Wednesday.
Quoting its sources, the channel reported that the PPP’s high command had shortlisted the names of three party leaders namely Nadeem Afzal Chan, Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood and Qamar Zaman Kaira for the position.
Makhdoom, who is on the top of the list, has already remained the Punjab governor.
Besides that, sources revealed, he was also acceptable to the PML-N since he was on good terms with the party leaders.
