Minister slams ‘propaganda’ against religious seminaries

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Noorul Haq Qadri slammed on Sunday “propaganda” against madressahs in the country.

Addressing a conference of religious scholars, he advised the people not to become part of propaganda against religious seminaries.

He said practical steps are being taken to turn Pakistan into a true Madina state, adding Prime Minister Imran Khan talked about an Islamic welfare state.

Qadri said it is the incumbent government’s priority to make Pakistan a welfare state.

Earlier, on April 13, the federal minister had stressed the need for implementation of modern technology for development of education sector.

“No nation can make progress without getting excellence in education sector,” Dr Noorul Haq Qadri said while addressing a function in Landi Kotal, Khyber district.

He said efforts were being made to recruit 4,000 more teachers in tribal schools.
