The record of the BJP and the RSS government is full of serious violations of the rights of minorities, especially Muslims. Many international organizations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, have expressed concern over the inhumane treatment, torture and killings of Muslims and minorities in India.
The Modi government, which has starved millions of people in India, is creating new social and religious problems to cover up its failed policies. Violence, intimidation, harassment and mob violence against minorities in India have increased dramatically since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister for the second time.
In Modi’s India, Indian minorities especially Muslims are being made backward and useless. They are in the process of becoming second class citizens and this is happening in every field. Concrete efforts are being made to make Muslims insecure. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on growing religious hatred suggests that he does not care about the situation or that everything is going according to plan.
Ever since the BJP came to power in India, hatred and religious hatred has been spreading in Indian society. In India, Muslims and minorities face daily persecution or prejudice. As in previous years, there have been numerous incidents of prejudice and abuse against lower caste Hindus, Christians and Muslims by upper caste Hindus. Are Muslims are the largest minority in India who ruled India for hundreds of years before the partition of India? However, since the partition of India, Muslims in India have faced prejudice, and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, one of India’s most prominent founding leaders, was assassinated in 1948 by a Hindu extremist, Nathuram Godse, for supporting Hindu-Muslim unity. The majority of Hindu extremists call Mahatma Gandhi a “traitor” for supporting the Hindu-Muslim alliance, even though he himself was a staunch Hindu, now that the Bharatiya Janata Party has come to power Gandhi’s assassin Godse is being called a hero.
There are many pages of Indian history that are often overlooked especially related to Muslims. One such name is Surayya Tyabji – the woman who came up with the final design of our national flag. Pingali Venkayyah has always been regarded as the man who came up with the design of the Indian flag. Contrary to popular belief, while the idea for the flag developed through the years with many names contributing to it, Pingali, in fact was a designer of the Swaraj Flag of the Indian National Congress. Surayya Tyabji was the one who came up the final idea for the Indian flag, but was never credited for it. It’s high time to recognize her contribution and give her the credit that she deserves as the only reason behind her non-recognition is that she was a Muslim. Born and brought up in Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh, now Capital of Telangana) in 1919, Surayya Tyabji was a reputed artist who was known for her uncustomary and progressive outlook towards life and society.
In India, the Modi government is treating Muslims and Sikhs living in other provinces besides the Muslims of Occupied Kashmir in the same manner. The lava of hatred against the government is burning in their hearts which will erupt at any moment. At present there are more than two dozen freedom movements in different parts of India. The biggest and most effective of these is the Khalistan movement. Not only inside the country but also outside the country which has made its presence felt and all attempts and tactics by the Indian government to suppress it have failed. So far, 80 fake Indian social media accounts have been exposed against the protests of Indian Sikh farmers and supporters of Khalistan movement which were promoting statements of Modi government and Hindu nationalist ideology.
By making such false propaganda, Modi government kept trying to throw dust in the eyes of the world. It also keeps on spreading false propaganda against Pakistan. But the world has come to know all these tricks and deceptions. The forces should use force to stop these negative moves of the Indian government and take concrete and practical steps to stop the persecution of minorities.
Leading Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah has warned that if anti-Muslim campaign by Hindu extremists continues, civil war will break out in India. If the genocidal efforts of Muslims do not stop immediately, the Muslims of India will fight back. If that happened then we would all be fighting for our survival.
