Nazim shows displeasure over KP govt restrictions

BUNER: The tehsil Nazim Maualana Saeed-u-Rehman Mufakir on Tuesday congratulated the newly elected cabinet of the press club and also appreciated its initiative of conducting meet the press program.

While talking to media persons on the occasion, he expressed unhappiness over KP government restrictions on the local governments of district. He claimed it was the due right of the elected public representatives to decide the utilization of the funds according to the need of the public. He branded the Mushraf era local bodies system many times better than the fresh one as he claimed in the Musharaf era local bodies members were powerful and could do much more despite they had no sufficient funds.

He was accompanied the tehsil council Daggar members Hafiz Sadique, Hafiz Qamar Ali Shah, distrct secretary general of the JUI-F Aarifullah, village Jowar Nazim Ali Rehman and others. The wise Maulana compared that though funds were provided to the local governments but the restrictions of its utilization as per guide lines set up by the KP government was a chain in hands and the elected district, tehsil and villages governments were unable to meet the demands of the voters.

He was vocal to say that it was model tehsil council where in 150 million funds were distributed among members equally for two annual developmental programs adding the fresh provincial finance committee awards funds rupees 87.5 million were also distributed among members equally for launching developmental schemes in their respective constituencies. He was bold to unveil this system of best in the earliest as the act of local government 2013 was empowered the elected public representatives to use power as high official and to direct the subordinates in the bureaucracy to actively follow the directives in larger public interests but later on the guide lines for utility of funds and cut in powers paralyzed the elected government at district, tehsil and villages level.

He was crystal clear that the cleanliness and municipal services was due responsibility of the tehsil governments adding the villages councils were duty bound to collect garbage to a point an and the tehsil council will transport it to a dump outside the city. About taxes he replied only big and large size sign boards on roads sides were auctioned for tax collection while steps for making sure car parking with medical centers on roads in the district headquarter Daggar were in progress and the DC was contacted for notification in this regards.

He was vocal to let the media persons to ask and visit all of the schemes of the tehsil council as quality and quantity was assured by linking release of the final bill to contractors after verification of the concerned member of that constituency, he concluded with thanks for giving him the opportunity to express all about his efforts and promised all out support to the new cabinet for promotion of the positive journalism and meeting the needs of the press club as well.
