New Zealand squad reaches Pakistan for white-ball series

LAHORE: New Zealand cricket team on Tuesday, landed in Pakistan for the upcoming five-match each T20I and ODI series against the home side, scheduled to take place from April 14 to May 7.

According to the details, the touring side set foot in the country in the wee hours of Tuesday and were given a warm welcome by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials before travelling to the team hotel in tight security. Tom Latham-led T20I squad will enjoy two-day rest before finally starting their training camp on April 13, a day earlier the first T20I of the five-match series is scheduled.

Upon New Zealand’s arrival for the white-ball series, their all-rounder Daryl Mitchell asserted that the contingent is upbeat for the assignment.

“There are young players in the team who have not played in these conditions before,” he said.

“Conditions are quite different here from New Zealand and young players will gain experience,” he said. “The series is quite long. We will try to play good cricket.” (INP)
