Pakistan confirms 1,895 new virus cases in past 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reported 1,895 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours (Sunday), the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows. There were 39 more causalities related to the deadly disease as death toll due to coronavirus has reached 10,350 that represents a ratio of 2%.

According to the latest figures, 1,895 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 30,139 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 488,529 that returned positive after conducting 6,849,867 total tests so far.

The number of active cases in the country reached 35,722 with 2,242 patients in critical condition. There are 308 patients on ventilators. There were 1,797 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 442,457 with a 90.6% recovery rate.

Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 526 new cases in last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 140,714 with 11,461 active cases. The province reported 15 new virus-related death as death toll reached 4,124. With 668 new recoveries, 125,129 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.

The most affected province Sindh has once again recorded 961 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 218,597 with 17,556 active cases.

The province reported 17 new deaths as the death toll reached 3,611. With 753 new recoveries, 197,430 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 229 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 59,484 with 3,290 active cases.

The province reported 3 new virus-related deathd as the death toll reached 1,675. With 136 new recoveries, 54,519 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far. Balochistan has recorded another 29 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 18,247 with 250 active cases.

The province reported no new virus-related death as the death toll remains at 185. With 52 new recoveries, 17,812 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far. Islamabad has recorded 117 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 38,263 with 2,752 active cases.

Four new deaths were reported in the Federal Capital as the virus death toll reached 468. With 153 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 35,093 in the federal capital so far. Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 32 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 8,357 with 373 active cases. With no new death reported, the death toll remains at 226.

There were 35 new recoveries in the AJK as 7,758 patients have recovered so far from the virus. Gilgit-Baltistan has recorded one new case during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 4,867 with 50 active cases.

With no new death reported in the province, the death toll remains at 101. There were also no new recovery as patients recovered from the deadly disease remained at 4,716.
