Pakistan records 78 more corona deaths, 3,447 new cases in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Another 78 people succumbed to coronavirus in the past 24 hours (Sunday) as the death toll due to coronavirus has reached 18,993 that represents a ratio of 2.2%, the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.

The positivity ratio of coronavirus cases in Pakistan was 9.12 percent as 3,447 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 37,756 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 861,473 that returned positive after conducting 12,228,427 total tests so far.

The number of active cases in the country is 80,375 with 4,846 patients in critical condition. There were 4,824 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 762,105 with an 88.5% recovery rate.

Punjab

Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 1,393 new cases in the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 319,365 with 38,482 active cases.

In Punjab, 26 more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 9,058. With 2,470 new recoveries, 271,825 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.

Sindh

Sindh has recorded 976 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 292,644 with 18,082 active cases.

With 16 new deaths related to the deadly disease, the death toll in Sindh reached 4,742. With 586 new recoveries, 269,820 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 642 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 124,484 with 9,727 active cases.

The province reported 27 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 3,615. With 963 new recoveries, 111,142 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Balochistan

Balochistan has recorded another 123 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 23,447 with 1,462 active cases.

The province reported one new death as the death toll reached 248. With 180 new recoveries, 21,737 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Islamabad

Islamabad has recorded 226 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 78,200 with 10,460 active cases.

With seven new deaths reported in the Federal Capital as the virus death toll reached 702. With 505 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 67,025 in the federal capital so far.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir

Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 79 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 17,945 with 2,048 active cases. With one new death reported, the death toll reached 508.

There were 99 new recoveries in the AJK as 15,389 patients have recovered so far from the virus.

Gilgit-Baltistan

Gilgit-Baltistan recorded eight new cases during the last 24 hours, as the tally reached at 5,388 with 114 active cases. No new death reported in the province as the death toll remains at 107.

There were 21 new recoveries reported as number of patients recovered from the deadly disease reaches 5,167.
