Pervez Khattak decides not to reply to PTI’s show-cause notice

F.P. Report

PESHAWAR: Former defence minister and PTI stalwart Pervez Khattak has decided not to respond to the show-cause notice issued to him by the party leadership, on Monday.

Sources told 24News TV channel that Khattak, who was busy chalking out a new political strategy these days, had started approaching former members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly as well as the National Assembly for that, and had recently held meetings with politicians in Islamabad, Peshawar and Lahore.

They disclosed that either the ex-minister would form a party of his own or would carve out a faction of PTI.

The sources revealed that former members of the provincial assembly (MPAs) from Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Battagram, Abbotabad and other districts were in contact with Khattak.

However, they elaborated, while some prominent ex-PTI lawmakers had assured Khattak their wholehearted support, there are some, including Atif Khan, Taimur Jhagrra and Faisal Amin Gandapur, who were not interested in jumping onto the bandwagon.

According to reports, whether former minister formed a new faction or a new party, its narrative would certainly be against the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) so that the PTI’s vote bank could be split.

Moreover, they added, Khattak was likely to address a press conference either in Peshawar or Islamabad by July 15 at which he would announce his new political strategy.
