PESHAWAR: Justice Sahibzada Asadullah of Peshawar High Court (PHC) granted transit bail to three Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders including provincial general Ali Asghar Khan till 30th December, on Monday.

PHC ordered PTI provincial general secretary along former parliamentarians named Ali Jadoon and Nazeer Abbasi while ordered for appearance before Session Court Abbottabad.

The counsel Ali Zaman and Shahab Ullah advocates argued that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s leaders were nominated in First Information Report registered at Bakot area of Abbottabad district for holding workers convention without permission.
The counsel further argued that the petitioners are law abiding citizens but nominated in FIR to create hurdles in election campaign for PTI.

The petitioners are appearing before concerned court but there is fear that police will arrest them earlier than their appearance, the counsel added.

The counsel requested for provision of transit bail to petitioners to contest their case before concerned session court. Ali Zaman Advocate argued that PTI activists are targets of political victimization of executive while added that other parties are holding conventions freely.

PHC’s Justice Sahibzada Asadullah granted transit bail to three PTI’s leaders including provincial general secretary Ali Asghar Khan on Rs1 lac and two personal sureties for each and ordered them to appear before Session Court Abbottabad on 30th December 2023.
