PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) implementation cell issued notices to secretary Communication and Work (C&W) along with secretary Establishment in Contempt of Court petition for promotion of several BPS-17 officers on 20% quota and ordered to submit reply, on Monday.
The COC was filed by Shaukat Shah along with other C&W employees seeking promotion on 20% quota reserved for the department.
The petition stating that petitioner has served C&W for 32 long years while obtained Bachelor in Technology (B.Tech) and was retired on 28th August while Promotion Board meeting called in September.
The petition argued that petitioner was standing on second position in promotion list while added that promotion of B. Tech degree holders pending since 2017.
The petitioner has earlier filed writ petition seeking promotion to Executive Engineer on 20% quota while PHC has directed C&W conclude recommendation within two months.
However, C&W has decided to amend rules on 24th April which pave way for promotion of B. Tech degree holders but concerned officers didn’t implementing the decision,
PHC implementation cell has issued notice to secretaries C&W and Establishment to submit report in implementation of court’s orders.
