PESHAWAR: A divisional bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) comprised of Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah ordered the provincial government to submit records of cases and inquiries against former Member National Assembly (MNA) Sajid Mohmand, on Friday.
The counsel Ishfaq Daudzai and Bashir Safi advocates argued for the provision of records of cases and inquiries initiated against former MNA belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). On the previous hearing, PHC had ordered the submission of records in this regard but respondents didn’t comply with the orders, the counsel for petitioner argued.
In the meantime, Anti-Corruption Establishment’s representative informed PHC that neither any inquiry nor a case has been registered against former MNA Sajid Mohmand in the Charsadda district. However, Additional Advocate General Danyal Asad Chamkani requested further time to submit of complete record of cases and inquiries against former MNA.
The counsel argued to extend interim bail plea of the petitioner as the Anti-Terrorism Court had granted bail to the former MNA in this regard. The court would be informed regarding the arrest of the accused on bail as per High Court orders, PHC observed. PHC ordered submission of records of cases and inquiries initiated against former MNA Sajid Mohmand while adjourned further hearings.
