PESHAWAR: A divisional bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) comprising of Justice Ijaz Anwar and Justice Waqar ordered University of Peshawar (UOP) to hold Selection Board for appointment Associate Professor within two months, on Tuesday.
The petitioner named Dr. Minhas Majeed had applied for post of Associate Professor at Department of International Relation in response to advertisement issued by UOP in 2022 in this regard, Tariq Afghan advocate informed. The petitioner is eligible for the post of Associate Professor but UOP didn’t held Selection Board after advertisement in 2022 which will deprive her from promotion as Dr. Minhas Majeed will retire soon, the counsel added. Higher Education Commission (HEC) had also issued an notification regarding recruitment process compelling the varsities to concluded the hiring procedure within one year but UOP had failed to ensure compliance with HEC decision, the lawyer argued.
