PESHAWAR: The Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court Justice Qaiser Rashid had stopped transfer of prisoner to Karachi allegedly involved in issuance of bonus cheque, on Friday.
The counsel for petitioner Danyal Asad Chamkani Advocate informed PHC that his client Sajjid Riaz has issued cheque which was bonus and First Information Report was lodged against him in Karachi. The counsel added that the petitioner was arrested in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and was hand over East police station Peshawar Cant.
The counsel Danyal Chamkani Advocate argued that magistrate had sent petitioner to jail while Session Judge has turn down his bail petition.
The counsel further added that district court cannot issues such orders when case is register in other district and argued that petitioner seeking transit bail to face trial in Karachi. The Chief Justice PHC Justice Qaiser Rashid has stopped transfer of petitioner to Karachi and directed to submit record 17 October and adjourned further hearing.
