PM Imran allows PDM protest outside ECP

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed Minister for Interior Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad not to create obstacles in the way of the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) planned protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) building in Islamabad on January 19.

He issued the directive in a meeting with Sheikh Rasheed in Islamabad on Tuesday.

He said if any party wanted to record its protest over delay in PTI’s foreign funding case verdict, let that party exercise that right freely unless it took law into its own hands.

Addressing the PDM rally in Bahawalpur rally on Sunday, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had announced that the PDM would hold a protest demonstration in front of the Election Commission of Pakistan office in Islamabad on January 19 against the delay in foreign funding case decision.

The opposition parties have time and again expressed their concern over the delay in PTI’s foreign funding case verdict, saying this shows there is something fishy that is keeping the ECP from giving a verdict in the case.
