PM Kakar: No relationship more important for Pakistan than its relations with China

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar said in a conversation with Chinese think tanks and scholars in Beijing that no relationship was more important for Pakistan than its relations with China, on Tuesday.

He stated that Pakistan would not let anyone affect its deep relations with China, adding that the Pak-China friendship had always remained steadfast on every occasion.

He said that Pakistan’s business landscape had changed during the last 10 years thanks to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

It is to be noted here that Prime Minister Anwaar Haq Kakar will spend a busy day in Beijing today as part of his four-day visit to China.

The prime minister will meet the President of Russia Vladimir Putin today, and he will also meet the presidents of Kenya and Sri Lanka and attend the dinner given by the President of China.

Before he visited China, a special article by Caretaker Prime Minister Kakar was published in an international journal.

The prime minister wrote in the article that the completion of a decade since the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) was the manifestation of President Xi Jinping’s vision.

“Pakistan-China relations were founded on a vision and solid foundation 70 years ago,” he had pointed out.

“Pakistan is China’s best friend. Interestingly, the term Iron Brother in China is reserved for Pakistan only. The prime minister wrote that the core of President Xi Jinping’s vision is based on social and economic development. The BRI is an important pillar of the global community for a shared future,” he had added.

Also, the prime minister said while speaking at the CPEC Round Table meeting in Beijing that the CPEC was a flagship project and a game changer.

He reiterated that the friendship between Pakistan and China had remained steadfast at all times.

“The expansion of CPEC to Afghanistan is paving the way for development in the region,” he pointed out.

“The CPEC is also a pillar of development and prosperity for the people of Balochistan,” he added.
