PM Shehbaz tasks Maryam Nawaz to win back Khaqan Abbasi

LAHORE: After becoming Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Senior Vice President and Chief Organizer, Maryam Nawaz has called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the first time on Saturday.

During their meeting in Lahore, the uncle and niece duo held discussion on PML-N reorganization and Maryam’s participation in the ongoing events of workers conventions across the country.

They also decided to woo back the angry PML-N leaders. They held a thorough discussion on the resignation of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and decided to remove his reservations.

According to sources in the PML-N, Prime Minister Shehbaz asked Maryam to hold an early meeting with Abbasi.

Maryam said that Abbasi was an old ally of Nawaz Sharif.

Both the leaders also discussed provincial polls in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They were of the view that elections should be held on time and the PML-N would be fully prepared to participate in the polls on the date which would be announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Sources revealed that Shehbaz would soon relay his message regarding elections to the party workers.

PM Shehbaz and Maryam also discussed the current wave of sky-rocketing inflation in the country.

On Maryam’s request, the prime minister promised to hold consultation on providing relief to masses in view of rising cost of living.
