PML-N government empowers women

ASTORE: The PML-N government has empowered women in all sector of life including education, health, politics, banking and economy besides increasing their socio-economic status in the society. PML-N Astore President, Alam Shah told media here Thursday that socio economic empowerment of women was the top most priority of GB Government and determined efforts was being made to further increase their participation in all spare of life.

He said no country can make progress and move on path of development without an active participation of women and the government was taking solid measures to raise their income so that they could live in dignified manner. Alam Shah said fund and stipend for poor women under Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has been significantly enhanced by PMLN so that they could continue education and fulfill other needs of their children.

Meanwhile, Assistant Director Tourism District Rahat Ali said Thursday the Gilgit Baltistan government was taking solid measure for promoting tourism in the region.

Talking to media, he said that GB government had made a number of measures with support of the federal government, adding these steps had helped promote soft image of the country. He said Chief Minister Hafeez-ur-Rehman was taking keen interest to pursue ongoing projects in the tourism sector which contributed much to the national economy. He said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N)’s government had fulfilled all its promises it made with masses during election campaign and its policies’ blessings had started passing at grassroots level.

He said that the country was facing different challenges, initially but the PML-N-led government successfully surmounted those challenges and now the country’s economic condition had improved and living standard of people had raised. Like other parts of the country, load shedding was one of the biggest problems for Giligit Baltistan and but it had now been reduced to 80 percent in wake of years several power projects which were completed during the last three years. He said owing to prudent policies of the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, people of Gilgit Baltistan had access to basic necessities of life and the region had been witnessing record development projects.
