LAHORE: Newly-appointed PML-N Senior Vice-President Maryam Nawaz’s plane has landed at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on Saturday afternoon after spending nearly four months with her father Nawaz Sharif in London.

“Pak sar zameen shad bad,” Maryam tweeted after landing.

The PML-N senior vice-president travelled by PIA flight PK-264 from UAE and touched down at Lahore Airport at around 3:30 pm.

Maryam Nawaz, who had gone to UK on October 6, 2022, had left London for UAE on Thursday. She spent a busy day in Dubai.

At home, PML-N leaders have finalised preparations for Maryam’s warm reception and it has been agreed that she will address the PML-N workers from a container before heading to her Jati Umra residence, and there will be no rally.

On her way back from UAE, Maryam Nawaz will be joined by Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.

PML-N leaders Captain (retd) Safdar, Saiful Malook Khokhar, Javed Latif, Khawaja Imran Nazeer, Khawaja Salma Rafique, Mubashar Javed and others have given final touches to the arrangements for welcoming Maryam Nawaz at Lahore Airport.

Saif-ul-Mulk Khokhar, the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Lahore, said that millions of workers will attend Maryam Nawaz s welcome. “Welcoming the party senior vice president will be a rehearsal for Nawaz Sharif s homecoming,” says Khawaja Salman Rafique.

Slight delay in departure

The departure of Maryam Nawaz from Abu Dhabi was delayed after health of a PML-N worker accompanying him deteriorated on board the plane.

Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said in a tweet said now the plane is ready to take off and Maryam Nawaz will be in Lahore in few hours.
