Police arrest five terrorists in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: Police arrested five alleged terrorists on Thursday and recovered 40 kilograms of explosives materials, arms and ammunition from their possession.

District Police Officer (DPO), Zahoor Afridi said that police conducted operation on intelligence base information, wherein police nabbed five terrorist identified as Mohammad Umar alias Bacha, Kalim Ullah alias Mufti, Mohammad Israr, Fazl Ullah and Inayat Ullah from Shabqadar area of Charsadda and recovered explosives, arms and ammunition from them.

DPO added that the raid was conducted in Sro area of Shabqadar, and they recovered 40kg of explosives, which was probably to be used in making of suicide vests and improvised explosive devices.

He added that the explosives were packed in drums adding that the law enforcement personnel also recovered seven rocket propelled grenade shells, 10 hand grenades, arms used in targeted killings, mobile phones, one transmitter, 11 detonators, 100 meter prima cord and several other items.

The DPO further added that law enforcement agencies also conducted search and strike operation on the outskirts of Charsadda after nabbing the outlaw. The arrested terrorist were shifted to unknown place for further investigation.
