PESHAWAR: The former Medical Director, Dr. Muhammad Siraj, resigned due to his personal commitments and to further utilize his services as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics. During two years as the Medical Director, he played a significant role in the development of Khyber Teaching Hospital, including the shifting of all departments to the newly established OPD, commissioning of modern modular operation theater, new ICU complex and various facilities. Along with the transfer of wards, also involved in the establishment of new sub-specialities/departments.
Dr. Muhammad Siraj was the Chairman of Institutional based Practice of Khyber Teaching Hospital along with the important position of Medical Director. Thanks to his valuable services, Khyber Teaching Hospital has priority among all hospitals in IBP.
Dr. Mohammad Siraj is honored as the first Fellow of Pakistan Orthopedic Association in Hand Upper Limb and Microsurgery, and is currently the first and only Supervisor of Hand and Upper Limb Surgery in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He is also a CPSP accredited supervisor in the discipline of orthopedic surgery.
In view of quality healthcare services and his tireless efforts, implementation of (ISO 9001: 2015) policies became possible and Khyber Teaching Hospital was awarded ISO 9001: 2015.
On dated 7th June 2023, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ayaz Khan took charge of Medical Director Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar.
Professor Muhammad Ayaz Khan is Professor of Orthopedic and Spine Surgery, Khyber Medical College, Peshawar. After MBBS from KMC he did FCPS Orthopedic Surgery from Queen Medical Center Nottingham England in spine surgery from College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan Fellowship.
Professor Ayaz is also the CPSP Supervisor in Orthopedic and Spinal Surgery. He established the Spine Surgery specialty and was instrumental in getting it approved by the CPSP for FCPS Spine Surgery at KTH. Also made 60 publications in national and international journals.
According to Prof. Ayaz, I believe in teamwork and will leave no stone unturned to take Khyber Teaching Hospital towards further improvement and provide all possible services to the patients. He further said that he will fulfill the vision and mission of the Board of Governors and also thanked the Board of Governors and Dean KMC Professor Mahmud Aurangzeb for their trust.
