PTI govt pledges to provide equal educational system in country: Shafqat

PESHAWAR: Federal education minister Shafqat Mehmood said that PTI government pledged to provide equal educational system in country. He said that under the framework enrollments process initiative 0.8 million students would be enrolled in the distracts Khyber of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Addressing a Press Conference in Peshawar Press Club on Monday, he said that government had fulfilled all its promises by providing equal opportunity to the poor masses in the country and under the revolutionary steps in education system in the first phase 0.8 million students would be enrolled in the different government schools.

He said that the new initiatives would have everlasting effects on the literacy rate in the country. He said that illiteracy is considered the mother of social ills and PTI government was focused to make sure the provision quality education to the every layer of the society on equal basis. 

He said that it is also important the provision of the same education system to be given to everyone as education was the only tool to change the society.

He said that education ministry in its framework has identified four key areas it shall be focusing on improving the quality of education, enrolment of out of school children, and introducing a uniform education system, and skill development of the youth.  

He explained that education system had promoted class based divide in the country. He said that “By providing equal educational system it would provide harmony among the masses in all provinces”.

The minister vowed to resolve the above-mentioned challenges over the course of next five years and revealed that the educational ministry has kicked off the new initiatives n the target areas.

He said, there are three kind o educational systems existing in the country madrassah system, public school system and English-medium school system. He said that under the new education policy, a uniform education system will be introduced.

He also said that the PTI government was willing to make improvements in the field of education by bringing improvements to the quality of education. He said that a market-Oriented education would be provided to students so that they can find jobs easily and also it would be helpful that it would put the country on the socioeconomic development path.  

The minister said the previous government had destroyed the economy and when they came in power the country was almost bankrupt.

The educational ministers continued that “Prime Minister Imran Khan had discouraged the corrupt practices in the institutions which had become a practice in the past.” He said that the incumbent government was promoting austerity in all the institution of the country to save the money for the provision of health, education and houses to the masses.
