F.P. Report

LAHORE: The Punjab Textbook Board has not yet printed textbooks as per the new curriculum for millions of government school-going students under the Single National Curriculum (SNC).

Books and homework may not be available before the summer holidays, however, PCTB, said that in any case, books will be provided before the summer holidays.

More than three million books are required for over six million children studying in Lahore.

Teachers said that in a short span of two months, it will not be possible for a textbook board to publish such a large number of books.

Moreover, the school education department has decided to take action against the teachers who have not received training on uniform national curriculum.

The department has asked for certificates from the teachers who are undergoing SNC training.

The department said that teachers will now be able to download their training certificates from the school information system.

Teachers with less than 95 percent attendance will also be able to get their certificate.

Teachers who do not take training will have to undergo face to face training in Lahore, according to the school education department.
