Security of public livesand property top priority of KP govt, says Minister

PESHAWAR: Efforts are being made to end the scourge of terrorism, the caretaker Information minister visits the injured in CMH and LRH.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Minister for Information, Auqaf, Hajj, Religious and Minority Affairs Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel has said that the safety of people’s lives and property is the first priority of the KP government.

The caretaker provincial government is trying to eradicate the scourge of terrorism while taking security measures by increasing the capacity of the police. He said that a detail report of the Bajaur incident will be revealed soon after completing the investigation.

The caretaker provincial minister expressed these views while talking to media representatives after visiting the injured in the Bajaur blast at Lady Reading Hospital. On arrival at LRH, Hospital Director Dr. Muhammad Abrar Khan gave a detail briefing to the provincial minister regarding the treatment of the injured. Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel met the injured individually and inquired about their health.

Later speaking to the media representatives, Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel said that a total of 44 people martyred in the blast that took place in Bajaur yesterday. In total, around 200 civilians were injured, in which around 100 were admitted to different hospitals. He said that 17 seriously injured were brought to CMH by helicopters on the instructions of the caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Azam Khan. Last night, 3 of the injured under treatment at CMH lost their lives. Currently, 14 injured are under treatment at CMH, out of which 2 are in critical condition.

Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel said that 16 injured are currently under treatment at Lady Reading Hospital, out of which 2 are in critical condition. The condition of other injured admitted in LRH id out of danger. Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel said that he strongly condemns this tragic incident and shares his condolences with the bereaved families.

He further said that the Caretaker Chief Minister is on his visit to Bajaur today and is personally monitoring all the situation over there. Details related to the investigation of this incident will be revealed in the next one or two days.

The caretaker provincial minister expressed his determination that the safety of public lives and property is the top priority of the incumbent caretaker provincial government. No negligence will be tolerated in this regard, ”he added “.

He said that efforts are being made to eradicate the scourge of terrorism for which the capacity of the police is being increased. Along with seven new police stations in the merged districts, around eight thousand police personnel will be given modern training. No Muslim can do such an act of barbarism. In response to a question, the caretaker provincial minister said that there should be SOPs for holding any political gathering for which, the caretaker provincial government has also called a meeting today.

Earlier, Caretaker Minister Information and Auqaf Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel also visited CMH to visit the injured of Bajaur blast and met all the injured individually and inquired about their health and well-being. He also met the medical staff and administration and assured them of providing all possible assistance/support and other facilities from the caretaker provincial government for speedy recovery of the injured in the Bajaur blast.
