PHC order submission of record otherwise petitioners’ pleas to be accepted

PESHAWAR: A divisional bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) comprised of Justice Kamran Hayat and Justice Shahid Khan ordered provincial government to submit record in bail pleas filed by 23 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers arrested under Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) within three days, on Monday.

During hearing Alam Khan Adenzai and Shah Faisal Ottomankhel advocates appeared before court and argued that 23 PTI’s workers from Chitral, Shangla and districts are behind bars under MPO.

The counsel added that orally petitioners are informed but competent didn’t producing on court’s file. The counsel pleaded for bail relief if the competent authorities didn’t submitting record before court.

The counsel further argued that neither public nor public properties are vandalized at Chitral and Shangla districts on 9th& 10th May protests by PTI’s workers.

During hearing Justice Kamran Hayat inquired from Advocate General regarding availability of record on court’s file as well as timeframe of imprisonments of PTI’s workers.

However, Additional Advocate General assured submission of record on next hearing while PHC ordered to submit within three days and observed that which offense is committed by petitioners that they are put behind the bars?
PHC further observed that court will grant bail to petitioners in case of failure regarding submission of record within three days and adjourned further hearing.
