Shaban moon sighted in Pakistan, Shab-e-Barat on April 21

LAHORE: The moon of Islamic month of Sha’ban-ul-Muazzam has been sighted in Pakistan, Ruet-e-Helal Committee announced on Saturday.

“The Shaban moon has been sighted and the first of Shaban will fall on Sunday, April 7” announced chairman Central Ruwait-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.

As per the Islamic Calendar, Shab-e-Barat will be observed on April 21 and the Holy month of Ramzan is likely to start from May 6.

According to the Muslim belief, Shab-e-Barat is the night when Allah arranges the affairs of the following year. On Shab-e-Barat, Allah writes the destinies of all his creations for the coming year by taking into account their past deeds.

On this night, Muslim devotees will offer special prayers, recite from the Holy Quran, hold milad, zikr and other religious obligations.
