Siraj satisfied over arrest of Zainab’s killer

LAHORE: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq has expressed satisfaction over the arrest of Zainab’s killer and called for an exemplary punishment for the culprit to serve as a deterrent for the others. In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Sirajul Haq said that the police and security agencies took a fortnight to arrest the culprit.  Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq stressed upon the police and the intelligence agencies to make serious efforts to trace the culprits involved in the abductions and murders of the children efficiently.

The JI cheif said that it was imperative to enforce the Islamic punishments or Hudood, to control sex crimes. Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq said that it was vital to inculcate fear of Allah and promote healthy and positive values and thinking to curb satanic activities.

Meanwhile, the JI chief talked to the father of Naqibullah Mehsud by phone and expressed his deep grief over the killing of his son.  He said that those involved in fake police encounters and extra judicial killings deserved deterrent punishments.

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq said that the JI would hold a grand Jirga in Karachi on January 31 to protest against Naqeeb’s murder.

Meanwhile, Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Liaqat Baloch has expressed serious concern over the clash of students groups at the Punjab University, arrests and the police interference in the campus. Talking to the members of the university administration, teaching staff, and students’ leaders at the varsity on Wednesday, Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Liaqat Balochsaid that the youth and the students were an asset not for any single party, but for the entire nation and it was imperative to create an atmosphere of good will and tolerance at the campuses to avoid ugly incidents.

He said that the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) had a long history of services in the field of education and social activities. However, he said, that in every era, certain lobbies tried to present some happenings out of proportion only to achieve their evil designs.

The JI SG said, had the university authorities, the police and the provincial government taken timely action, the situation could have been controlled.

Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Liaqat Baloch also appealed to the student leaders to try to improve the situation and settle their affairs themselves.  He also demanded release of those arrested unjustifiably.
