Tabish Gauhar steps down as Special Assistant to PM

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Power Tabish Gauhar has resigned from his office on Tuesday.

Reportedly, Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked Mr Gauhar to tender his resignation. Complying with the order, the SAPM handed in his resignation which was duly accepted by the PM.

The premier was not satisfied with the performance of Mr Gauhar. Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar was also not happy with him.

The energy minister held a meeting with PM Khan Monday night and expressed his reservation over the performance of SAPM Tabish Gauhar.

Mr Gauhar was accused of appointing his favourite officers in Pakistan State Oil, Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), and different power plants.

Mr Gauhar who was the former K-Electric chairman was appointed as special assistant to the prime minister on power in Oct 2020.

He is also the founder and chairman of Oasis Energy and he has got over 23 years of professional experience of working in the energy sector. After working for seven years in the K-Electric, he resigned from his position as chairman in 2015 due to some personal reasons.
