Threatening public servant to death: PTI MPA with 80 others charged

MARDAN: In response to threats of violence and death to the Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) PESCO-1 Mardan, a three-count case has been registered against about seven dozen people, including the MPA of Tehreek-e-Insaf in Police Station City,

The FIR filed on the plea of SDO Par Hoti PESCO-I and strong protest by WAPDA employees. They claimed that PTI backed SIC MPA Abdul Salam led a public procession for the defective transformer, police teams have been deployed for arrest.

According to the details, a case was registered against 80 people including Tehreek-e-Insaf Assembly member Abdul Salam Afridi former Nazim Sajid Mohmand, under Sections 188, 148 and 149 in Mardan Police Station. According to the registered FIR the members of the provincial assembly tried to forcefully drag Talha Ahmed SDO of Par Hoti sub-division, from the third floor in the office of PESCO-I and threatened to kill him, which was foiled by the officers of PESCO-I present at the spot.

The authorities of PESCO-I had applied to the city police station against the dispute of the Member Provincial Assembly in the presence of a heavy presence of the city DSP and the police, however, the police registered a formal FIR against the member of the provincial assembly and his other associates after a strong protest by WAPDA employees and a three-day deadline.
