Three children among six injured in Peshawar blast

PESHAWAR: As many as six people were injured including four Afghan boys in a bomb blast at Warsak Road near Babu Garhi area of Peshawar, on Tuesday.

According to hospital administration, six injured of the blast were brought to the hospital among which the condition of an Afghan child was stated to be critical.

The administration said the injured child, identified as Ehsan Ullah (11), son of Mujahid, an Afghan national, was in critical condition. A 13-year-old child named Ahmad Jan, resident of Babu Garhi was also an Afghan national while two other Afghans namely Javed Khan (15), son of Mujahid and Zahir Ullah (12), son of Sana Gul, resident of Babu Garh were also among the injured.

Apart from this, two other injured were identified as Yousaf Khan (23), son of Saeed Khan, resident of Babu Garhi and Saad Ahmad (18), son of Iftikhar, resident of Gul Abad, Charpareza. Chief of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Syed Ashfaq Anwar visited site of the blast at Warsak Road and vowed to arrest the culprits soon.

Talking to media persons, he said that investigators were busy in probe of the incident from different angles and geo-fencing techniques were being applied to arrest the criminals. He said that four children sustained injuries in the blast. The CCPO said police was in high alert position to thwart any eventuality.

Deputy Commissioner Afaq Wazir also visited Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar where he inquired after health of Warsak Road’s blast victims. He visited different wards directing the doctors to provide best medical treatment to the victims. At least six people including four children sustained injuries when an improvised explosive device planted under concrete stones at roadside went off this morning on Warsak Road Peshawar. The DC urged people to avoid rush in hospital wards. He said that all available resources should be utilized for treatment of the injured.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar strongly condemned the bomb blast that took place at Warsak Road of Peshawar. The prime minister instructed the authorities concerned to provide the best possible medical facilities to the children who sustained injuries in the incident, and prayed for their early recovery, according to a PM Office statement.

He directed the law enforcement agencies to probe into the incident and reiterated that the nefarious designs of the terrorists to mar the country’s peace would never let to succeed. The prime minister reiterated the resolve that the war against terrorism would continue till the elimination of the scourge and assured that the perpetrators of the incident would be brought to task as soon as possible.

Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Justice ® Sayed Arshad Hussain Shah strongly denounced the blast on Warsak Road here and sought an immediate report from police high-ups in this regard. The caretaker CM prayed for early recovery of the children who sustained injuries in the blast. He also issued directives to the hospital administration to provide best possible treatment facilities to the injured children.

Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nadeem Aslam Chaudhary condemned the blast on Warsak Road and promptly sought a detailed report from authorities. He directed district administration, police, and other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) to maintain heightened vigilance in the area.

The Chief Secretary prayed for swift recovery of the injured and instructed hospital administration to provide the best possible medical care to them. The Chief Secretary highlighted the sacrifices rendered by the general public and LEAs in establishing peace and tranquility in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He assured that the sacrifices of the people will not be forgotten and that elements involved in disturbing peace and stability will be taken to task.

Mayor Metropolitan Zubair Ali strongly condemned the blast on Warsak Road in which four children sustained injuries. He added that it was a sad incident that happened on Warsak Road, adding that it was an important road as there were several educational institutions on it and law enforcement agencies frequently use this road for movement. He said the blast was a desperate attempt to create unrest in the society. He emphasized on strengthening the security measures in the area to avert nefarious designs of anti-state elements.

Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has condemned a terrorism. In a condemnation communique, he expressed his grief over the injuries of children in the bomb blast. He demanded of the Federal and provincial governments to take strict action against the criminals involved in the bomb blast. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the children injured in the blast.

Caretaker Federal Minister for Interior Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti strongly condemned the explosion near the school on Warsak Road Babu in Peshawar. Expressing deep sorrow and regret over the injuries of innocent children in the blast, he said that no effort should be spared in the treatment of children and other injured.
