PESHAWAR: Shah Khalid of Tehreeke Islahat Pakistan(TIP) and Mufti Muhammad Kafeel of Jamiat Ullema e Islam Fazal Rehman(JUI-F)has won mayor ship seat of Landi Kotal and Bara respectively in Local Bodies election held here on last day.
In the official result announced at wee hours of Monday late night hours by the Assistant Commissioner (AC) Akbar Iftekhar who was Returning Officer (RO) stated that Shah Khalid of TIP has obtained 10231 votes and has won Tehsil chairman election.
Independent candidate Said Alam has got 4707 votes and has become runner-up whereas Wali Khan an independent candidate with 2825 votes remained third in the Mayer ship competition.
Total registered votes were 169795 and 37782 were total polled votes.
As per reports 101 polling stations have been set up to facilitate the voters.
Percentage of votes polled is 22.25%
In the same as per result publicized by the Assistant Commissioner and RO, Bara Naik Muhammad read that Mufti Muhammad Kafeel has got 10777 votes and won the election while independent candidate Haj Abduraziq has bagged 7765 votes with second position and Wali Khan Afridi of Jamat e Islami with 5578 receiving votes remained third position.
Total registered votes were 300432 votes (male and female) and 186 polling stations have been established across the sub-division Bara. Percentage of polled votes is 19.0685413%.
