Writ files seeking implementation of building code

PESHAWAR: A writ petition has been filed at Peshawar High Court against commercial and residential plazas for didn’t implementing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Model Building By-law 2017 and to direct under-construction buildings for implementation of the laws.
The writ petition was filed by Furqan Qazi stating that public-toilets and ramp for disable people is mandatory in for building in accordance with the law.
The counsel for petitioner Saifullah Mohib Kakakhail Advocate stating in the writ petition there is no facility of ramp and toilets in the commercial and residential plazas while under-construction building does not following building laws.
The writ petition further stating that lack of facilities and didn’t following the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Model Building Laws 2017 mostly effecting women class and disable people at large.
The writ petition stated that shops had been established on the spaces of parking and toilets to increase income while law puts liability of establishing of car-parking in the plazas.
The petition requesting PHC to direct the residential and commercial plazas to establish car-parking and toilets in accordance with because due to lack parking at university road with shopping malls making journey difficult for the public due to traffic jam.
