2 brothers killed over petty dispute in Lakki

LAKKI MARWAT: Two brothers were killed while their father sustained bullet wound when they were attacked by their rivals over a petty dispute in Mastikhel village on Wednesday. Police said the incident occurred in the limits of Tajori police station and that they had arrested one of killers along with a rifle used in the crime. They said that the deceased and injured belonged to Betani tribe.

Giving details of the incident police said that Naser Khan and his sons Abdul Jalil Khan and Nadim Khan were sitting along the village’s road when their rivals armed with weapons came there on motorcycles and opened fire on them. Consequently, the father and his sons were seriously wounded and shifted to a hospital in Tajori town”, they maintained, adding that Abdul Jalil Khan and Nadim Khan succumbed to injuries on way to Bannu. They said that the bodies were handed over to relatives for burial after fulfilling formalities.

Police claimed that they had arrested a killer Fidaullah and seized a Kalakov rifle from him soon after happening of the incident. They said that a case had been registered against the arrested man and his fleeing accomplices under relevant section of law. Also on Wednesday, DPO Asif Gohar paid a visit to judicial complex to check security arrangements and deployment of cops. DSP Inam Gandapur also accompanied him.

Asif checked deployment and presence of cops on main gate, watch towers and sentry points established on rooftops. He also examined walk through gates and availability of weapons with cops. He checked the record of individuals and vehicles entering judicial complex on daily basis. A subordinate official tasked with supervising security of judicial complex briefed the district police chief about security arrangements and alertness of policemen. The DPO directed the cops to be vigilant and wear bullet proof jackets and hamlets. He also directed policemen to remain alert and ensure provision of foolproof security to judicial complex and other installations.
