Airstrike destroys car bomb in Parwan province

PARWAN:A car bomb was destroyed in an airstrike which was carried out in northern Parwan province of Afghanistan, the military sources said Wednesday.

The airstrike was carried out in the vicinity of Bagram district of Parwan.

“A strike in Bagram district, destroyed a vehicle borne improvised explosive device that could have potentially targeted innocent Afghan civilians,” the sources said.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the airstrike so far.

Parwan is among the relatively calm provinces in North of Afghanistan but Taliban militants are active in some of the remote districts of the province where they often attempt to carry out terrorist related activities against the government and security institutions.(Khaama Press)
