Anti-polio drive successfully underway

HAFIZABAD: The district-wide anti-polio campaign is successfully underway and polio teams are engaged in door-to-door vaccination of children and during this campaign 2,29,033 children up to the age of five years will be vaccinated against polio. 645 mobile teams, 49 fixed teams and 34 transit teams are engaged in vaccinating children up to five years of age. 126 Area Incharge and 42 Union Council Monitoring Officers are also monitoring the polio campaign.

Health Officer Hafizabad Dr. Rehan Azhar said this at a meeting of District Anti-Polio Committee Hafizabad.

Deputy Commissioner Hafizabad Allah Ditta Warraich presided over the meeting. It was further informed in the meeting that special assistance of ulema, teachers, social workers, parents and civil society has been sought for the success of this campaign.

Allah Ditta Warraich has said that the government is taking all possible steps to eradicate polio from Pakistan and complete eradication of this disease is possible only through the joint efforts of all people working with the spirit of national service.
