ISLAMABAD: Any other solution of Kashmir Dispute other than Right to Self-determination is unacceptable for Kashmiris. It was observed by the member Azad Kashmir Assembly and President of Pakistan People’s Party Azad Kashmir Sardar Hassan Ibrahim Khan during a news conference in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Sardar Hassan Ibrahim said that State of Jammu and Kashmir is an undividable entity. Pakistan is our ultimate destiny, however, Statehood identity and right to self determination is the basic and undeniable right of the people of the Kashmir. He said that any change in the constitutional status of Gilgit Baltistan can effect the cause of Kashmir at this stage.
He said Pakistan People Party Azad Jammu Kashmir would oppose all such moves, which can effect the freedom movement of Jammu and Kashmir. According to him, Kashmiri will not accept any solution of Kashmir Dispute other than their right to self determination under the Resolutions of United Nations Security Council.
Sardar Hassan Ibrahim said that 28 April is an important milestone in the freedom movement of Jammu and Kashmir because on that day, 28 April 1949, Government of Azad Kashmir and the government of Pakistan concluded the “Karachi agreement” for administration of the affairs of Gilgit Baltistan on temporarily basis. While diving deep into the details, he said that Accòrding to Karachi agreement, no decision can be made about any administrative unit until the solution of Kashmir Dispute by means of exercise of the right to self determination by the people of Kashmir under UN Resolutions, till time government of Pakistan would under take the affairs of Gilgit Baltistan.
According to him, Karachi agreement was concluded by active role of Sardar Ibrahim Khan. He noted that Kashmir cause can severely effect in case of my change in Karachi agreement or constitutional status of Gilgit Baltistan. Sardar Hassan Ibrahim stressed that any such act could jeopardize the Security and Sovereignty of the state of Pakistan. According to him, Kashmiris are paying huge sacrifices for the Kashmir cause and their ultimate destiny is Pakistan.
