CM inaugurates 120-bed Burns & Trauma Centre

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakthunkhwa, Mahmood Khan here Tuesday inaugurated first ever Burns and Trauma Centre of the province that would help provide state of the art facilities to patients with burnt wounds. It is one of the major healthcare projects started functioning in the province after its formal inauguration by the Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in Peshawar today.

The Chief Minister told media that credit for its completion went to PTI Government that strongly believed to provide all basic facilities of life to people at their doorsteps. He said development work on first state-of-the-art burn centre in Peshawar was possible by sole efforts of PTI led  government in Khyber Pakthunkhwa.

The CM said his government was criticized for non-provision of facilities for burns’ patients in the province and with inauguration of this state of the art centre all such criticism of opponents was worthless today. He strongly refuted reports of having differences with top leadership and maintained that there was no such truth in such reports.

To a question regarding inauguration of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said all will witness development on March 23 in this regard. Khyber Pakthunkhwa Health Minister Hisham Inamullah Khan said PTI Government has brought revolution in health sector in the province where people are being provided best medical treatment facilities around 24 hours in all public sector hospitals of the province. He said PTI Govt has welcomed positive criticism for sake of improvement. He said so far around 2000 patients received burns’ treatment and post-operative recuperation facilities in the centre and patients will now not go for treatment to other provinces.

Furthermore Provincial Minister for Health Dr. Hisham Inamullah Khan has said that establishment of first state of the art 120 beds Burns and Trauma Centre was landmark achievement of the government in the history of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under which all facilities and medicines will be ensured to the patients suffering from burn injuries.

He was addressing at the inaugural ceremony of Burns and Trauma Center here at Hayatabad, Peshawar. On the occasion chief minister KP Mahmood Khan, provincial minister for communication, members of the provincial assembly, health secretary dr. Farooq jameel, Dr. Tahir, project director Burn center and health officials were also present. Health minister said that this state of the art burn center will serve the patients of burn injuries from throughout the country including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and merged districts as well as neighboring country Afghanistan.

Provincial minister said that the center has been equipped with the telemedicine and video conferencing and this will make the difference when it comes to provision of quality and speedy services to the patients. The center has also been connected with burn centers of different developed countries and our doctors will benefit from the research and new treatment techniques.

Dr. Hisham further said that establishment of burn center was long-lasting demand of the people of this region and the government just fulfilled their demand. He said in past due to no state of the art full-fledged burn and trauma center in the province, patients were being suffered, but now they would be ensured quality services under one roof. On the occasion other speakers also expressed their views.
