CM paving way for dissolution of provincial assembly: Babak

F.P. Report

PESHAWAR: Provincial General Secretary of Awami National Party (ANP), Sardar Hussain Babak has alleged that Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak is paving way for dissolution of provincial assembly by expelling 14 party MPAs over the charge of defection.

Awami National Party will fully oppose this move and stand like a stumbling block in accomplishment of this nefarious goal, he vowed.

In a press statement issued here on Monday, Sardar Babak also criticized Speaker KP Assembly, Asad Qaiser for frequent adjournment of assembly session which reflects partisan approach of the chair besides misuse of authority.

Babak said the financial crisis faced by province have no example in the history whereas government is also avoiding holding of elections for Deputy Speaker seat.

Government does not have sufficient support of MPAs to elect its Deputy Speaker and therefore is delaying elections, Babak added. ANP leader also criticized rejection of 22 point agenda of opposition by Speaker KP Assembly and for not calling the session. Frequent adjournment of assembly sessions by Speaker is a partisan approach and against the democratic norms, he reiterated.

He also alleged that decision of KP government of not announcing annual budget is because it lacks support in house and cannot hold debate over the budget.
