‘Dozens of overseas Pakistanis lost their saving of whole lives’

ISLAMABAD: Dozens of Overseas Pakistanis lost their saving of Whole lives in the hands of Land Mofia of Islamabad and Police is favouring the land Mofia instead of taking any action against the culprits. Mr. Sajid Iqbal, Shafiq Hashmi and Zafar Iqbal along with dozens of over overseas Pakistanis shared their plight with media during an interactive session in Islamabad today.

While digging into the details, the victims said that Sajid Iqbal and their family purchased more than 250 canal land from Khalid Mahmood Bhatti and Abrar Khan in 2004. They have all legal documents of ownership with them including registries, MOUs, maps and other relevant documents.

They further sold that land to many other people mostly overseas Pakistanis and all are in possession of their legal documents. Because, most of the owners lives abroad therefore, the previous owners Khalid Bhatti and Abrar Khan physically captured the land during their absence and now this Land Mafias do not allow any original owners to visit their land or construct their homes over there. While stating the boubous role of Police the victims said that they submitted 6 applications for lodging FIR against the Culprits but till time Police do nothing on those applications, however, Police filed 5 FIRs against a victim Sajid Iqbal, who was desperately telling his sad story.

The victims requested the Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief Justice of Pakistan, SAPM for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Zufiqar Bukhari and New IG Police Islamabad to look into the matters and help them save their investment of their whole lives.
