Embassy Night of NPC begins with Amazing Algeria

Washington DC: International Correspondents Committee of the National Press Club began its Embassy Night by visiting the Embassy of Algeria in Washington DC. 

Excellency Ahmed Boutache was the first Ambassador to host the committee members at his beautiful residence along with his team members which included the Foreign Affairs Attache, Political Councilor, Trade Councilor, Press Councilor and a few other staff members of the Embassy. It was amazing to note that a total of eight team members are helping the Algerian Ambassador to run his country’s affairs in Washington DC, which includes the two billion dollars trade with the United States. 

In his welcome remarks, Excellency Ahmed Boutache informed that his country has over six billion Foreign Direct Investment, has huge potential in natural resources and it is a growing market. He further informed that despite challenges in the neighboring countries, Algeria has demonstrated stability in the region and has helped out neighboring countries in every way possible, especially during the Corona. The Ambassador also thanked the US for donating Corona vaccine to his country. 

With regard to freedom of press, the Ambassador said that his country is completely open to freedom of press and freedom of expression and these rights are guaranteed under the 2020 constitution of his country. 

Ambassador of the US to Algeria, Elizabeth Moore Aubin also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the efforts to strengthen the relations between Algeria and the United States. She congratulated the Ambassador on upcoming 60th Independence Day celebrations of Algeria. 

Journalists enjoyed the authentic and delicious food of Algeria and listened to music of violin played a by talented musician, whom the Ambassador especially thanked. Arrangements were made in the beautiful garden area and participants were delighted that days of Corona have finally ended in Washington DC.
