Emerging Asia Cup 2018 to be held in Pakistan: Najam Sethi

LAHORE: Chairman, Pakistan Cricket Board, Najam Sethi has said that the Emerging Asia Cup 2018 will be played in Pakistan next year.

This he said while addressing to press conference along with his Sri Lankan counterpart in Lahore. Sethi said that the full five members of ICC countries and one qualifier will play the tournament in April next year and adding that the matches will be held in more than one venue.

Chairman PCB claimed that in the two or three days the schedule of West Indies tour to Pakistan will be finalized.

President Sri Lankan Cricket Board, Thilanga Sumathipala said on the occasion that Sri Lankans won the cricket world cup here in 1996 and we have good memories attached with Lahore city.

He added that Pakistani government extended its support during the times of unrest in Sri Lanka and we appreciate the Pakistan support in this regard.

Regarding the security, he said that extra ordinary security was provided during the Sri Lankan visit and we will come again for cricket and for fans of cricket as we know Pakistan is a cricket loving country.
